Membership Information, Contributions, and other Support

Started in 1968 as the first Memorial for Vietnam veterans, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park has been in continuous operation in one form or another since its dedication on May 22, 1971.

While the Foundation emphasizes Vietnam veterans, all Veterans  of the United States Armed Forces, and all other interested persons, are eligible for Membership in this national effort to memorialize veterans.

Membership and first annual dues for this organization include a quarterly newsletter, official lapel pin, and membership certificate.

Life Memberships also include a copy of J. D. Challenger's poster titled Ashes to Dust, which depicts a Native American warrior in front of a HUEY.

Annual Membership: $30.00 (or more)

Life Membership: $450.

The Foundation also accepts donations, which may be made by sending a check or money order (made payable to David Westphall Veterans Foundation, Inc.) to the address below. Your tax-exempt contribution is greatly appreciated.

Dear Mom & Dad...Sculpture

Sculptor Doug Scott has created a life-sized bronze statue depicting a soldier in the field composing his thoughts as he begins a letter home. The piece is titled Dear Mom and Dad (see a photo of the miniature sculpture to the right). Acrylic miniatures of the sculpture are on sale for $50.00 through the Foundation's Gift Shop located in the Visitors Center of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park. Every vet and every parent of a vet will find themselves transported into waves of thoughts and emotions sparked by this evocative piece. The sculpture was installed outside the Chapel in May 2003. With a new generation of soldiers assigned to combat in various global hot spots, the timelessness of Dear Mom and Dad is underscored every day.

VETERANS MEMORIAL WALKWAY BRICK ORDER FORM

The Foundation is sponsoring creation of a Veterans Memorial Walkway at the Memorial.  The engraved memorial bricks will be used to line the walkways around the Chapel.   The bricks will be installed periodically rather than as orders are made.  The first installation of a group of bricks is planned for September of 2007 in connection with an annual Run for the Wall Reunion and workday at the Memorial. PLEASE NOTE THAT BRICKS ORDERED AFTER AUGUST 15, 2007 MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE PLACED UNTIL NEXT YEAR. THIS IS DUE TO THE TIME NEEDED TO CONFIRM THE ACCURACY OF ORDERS AND TO PRODUCE THE ORDERED BRICKS.

Each red brick is 4" x 8" with three lines of engraving as shown below. The price is $75.00 per brick.
